The return follows the same route, with optional steeper descent variants – avalanche warnings must be observed.

The ski tour begins at the top station of the Tauplitz 4er Sesselbahn
Tauplitzat 1,656 meters above sea level and leads to the Steirersee
huts, with an initial short descent to Lake Steirersee.
The route is demanding but scenically magnificent, passing through the white
winter landscape of the Totes Gebirge. The ascent runs across the alpine
plateau, along Lake Steirersee, and through forested sections up to Lake
Schwarzensee. The return follows the same route, with steeper descent options
depending on snow conditions.
